Tomo drug testing has been identified as one of the leaders in the drug and alcohol testing industry throughout Missouri for over 25 years. Since 2015, Tomo has evolved into a leader in several more states. It started when Tomo took their knowledge and expanded into the state of Indiana. Tomo embarked on a journey that would begin opening doors for the organization in ways that had not been experienced. In the following months, Tomo expanded into more locations throughout Indiana and in Missouri. This was followed in 2019 by acquiring two drug testing companies, one in Indianapolis, IN and the other located in Tulsa, OK and Bartlesville, OK. The expansion of Tomo has helped us be able to carry out our purpose. “Create raving fans and to make a difference in those that we serve.”
Throughout all the growth it enabled us to expand into other relationships. Tomo developed a key partnership in Indiana, and it has served as a catalyst for other testing opportunities. These opportunities were quickly put in place in Missouri and Indiana. In late 2019 the relationship advanced further and Tomo was approached about opening an office in Las Vegas, Nevada. As conversations continued to take place in late 2019 into early 2020, Tomo began to piece together the puzzle for success. Tomo continued to put the foundation for a new region together in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and received the final go ahead in April of 2020.
The puzzle began with the hiring of our newest district manager, Benjamin Dungca. Ben came to Tomo with a history in retail and hospitality management. He helped begin a successful concierge service located in San Francisco, California. We knew Ben would be a great addition to our company because the core values he carries match the values of Tomo. Tomo also had a staff member that was on our Indiana team transfer to Las Vegas. Shauna Cole was moving with her family across the United States to be closer to their family in Las Vegas. The time of her arrival coincided with our launch of the new office. Shauna had the ability to come in and share the Tomo Way with all of the newest Las Vegas staff members. Tomo has seven core values that always determine if someone is the right person for the company. This has been a foundation of our ability to grow.
- Do the right thing. Always
- GIVE and BE more than expected
- Passion for service
- Humbly confident
- Professional Adaptability
- Embrace change and new ideas
- Desire to be on and contribute to a winning team
The Tomo Difference
As the team began to assemble in Las Vegas, the message to our staff members was very clear: We want to have staff members that are the right people and serving in the right seat. In late June 2020 all new staff members got together for the last part of the training. One thing was very evident as we completed training, the servant hearts of the staff that were there to fulfill Tomo’s purpose.
Effective July 1 Tomo Drug Testing officially opened their doors for service. In close to two months, Las Vegas has proved they are ready to help launch Tomo to the next level. The staff continue to develop their testing skills, hold each other accountable, and have also begun to help out with other duties on the operations team in Missouri and Indiana. The team has continued to show they are ready to lead the charge for Tomo on the West Coast. As they continue to create a raving fan in our client now, they are also preparing for our next big roll out. Effective September 1 the Las Vegas Tomo staff was fully trained to perform workplace collections. This included DOT and non-DOT drug and alcohol collections, oral fluid collections, and nail collections.
Tomo’s ability to execute testing has been who we are since the founding of the company. What has set us apart from others and helped us grow was staying true to the values of who we are and who represents our team. We do not view what we do as just collecting a specimen. As key partnerships continue to develop for the organization we hope to do everything we can to show them that what sets us apart is our company’s purpose: “Create raving fans and make a difference for those we serve.”
